Statistics! (and another thing)
Player of the Match (the other thing)
We will start with the other thing first.
For ten years we have operated our Player of the Match system without any written rules - it has mostly worked well, but sometimes, not so much. The Committee has decided for the first time to write down the rules so everyone understands.
One thing the Committee has decided on in publishing this is that from now on, all voting shall be a secret ballot. Captains are charged with how this happens.
Read the rules here.
Statistics
They are back!
The club owes a great debt of gratitude to Pasqua for getting this up and running and funding it from his own pocket for the last few years. He had it sorted so that it updated automatically...but then it broke (Play Cricket changed things to stop data scraping).
The Committee has resurrected Pasqua's work, uploaded missing games and then painstakingly gone through each current player's statistics in Play Cricket and updated. Hundreds of changes were made. Decisions were made. And in the end, we think that it is the most accurate reflection we can come up with.
Updating will be manual, but simple every week (please give us to the end of the weekend to get it done).
The Cricket Statz site is embedded in our website. Easy to find from the main menu -
Have a look though. Compare your own stats against Play Cricket and the Cricket Statz site and let us know (canberracitycc@gmail.com) if there is anything that needs fixing.
Otherwise, enjoy!
Thankyou Bill, a mountain of work done by you that should be acknowledged. Thanks
